An Unconventional Memoir of an Unplanned Journey
If, according to Socrates, the unexamined life is not worth living, is the converse always true? When a person has actively embraced life, living it to the fullest, is there time for philosophical musings, looking backward, contemplating the meaning, and sharing with generations to come? THE SANDS OF TIME
by Barbara SilvermanReadings, Discussions, Stories on Mythology, History, Astronomy, Wildlife
Time is like grains of sand. It obscures the past, confusing the history that we try to unravel. Presenting puzzles and forming mysteries that may or may not be solved. Sometimes the sand is visible, covering and hiding that which lies beneath. Sometimes the sand cannot be seen – it is simply the passage of time, forever carrying away pieces that we search for. And when the sands of time flow into the future, past that hidden veil preventing us from seeing beyond this moment, what will they carry with them. What from our time will remain? And what will be gone forever? That question is still to be answered.

Twelfth Night: Or What You Will
Known to many as one of Shakespeare’s most perfect comedies, Twelfth Night is a wild and touching story of a set of separate twins desperate to find their other half. Shakespeare’s stirring and memorable language is masterfully paired with hilarious physical and visual comedy, inciting tears and laughter in equal measure and sometimes simultaneously. This play deals with the nature of love and loss, asking intriguing questions about gender roles, identity and attraction. Timeless and thought provoking, Twelfth Night is the perfect play for inspiring dialogue amongst our contemporary audience.Directed by Amanda Kellock

Our ‘Indie’ MovementThe ‘big bang’ that sparked our existence occurred on April first—April Fool’s Day—2001. We were a ‘gang of four’ enthusiasts who got together at the (now disappeared) Café ‘Porté Disparu’ on the Plateau. Our mission was a bit vague, but we did agree on one thing: to reach out to emerging and actual self-publishers in Montreal. Back then, we had no idea how much our nascent venture was destined to grow...
